Mighty Writey got a short debut in August 2009, then in November, just after Thanksgiving, my husband was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. Mighty Writey was put on hold for over three years while we fought that battle – and won. That crisis gave me time to contemplate a number of things, large and small. One thing I feel sure of, is that there is adventure in the day to day, we just have to be able to see it, and tell it.

Mighty Writey is a creative writing outlet for snippets of everyday adventure from my relatively unadventurous life. My husband is a world traveler, having climbed mountains in Africa and South America. Both of our sons are also world travelers; our eldest having worked at a record label in Belgium, our youngest was an exchange student in Japan as a high school senior and now works for a Japanese company.

I, too, have traveled, but I can’t say that I love it. My everyday adventure comes from my love of home, family and friends. I would rather stay home and be a cheerleader to those around me who want to do great things. The world needs cheerleaders too, right?
